On August 17, 2026, OpenAI signed a 20‑year lease for roughly 8 IT‑gigawatts (IT‑GW) at the PORTS‑Pike Technology Campus in Pike County, Ohio, to be built and owned by SoftBank’s SB Energy. Initial capacity is expected to come online in phases beginning in 2028.
